My printer is missing the 'Format for' list after macOS Sequoia update

I am using a Macbook Pro (2019). After the update my EPSON ET-4750 Series only manages to print one pages. If I print the same document with my iPad, it works fine. I have deleted the printer and added again, but it has not helped. Also the printer has the latest Epson firmware. Anyone with any ideas?

Since updating to Sequoia, from my MacBook Air I get a Communication Error with my printer Epson ET-1810. The printer shows online in the wifi network though, and I can print from my phone. It's just on the Mac that the problem exists. Deleted & reinstalled all Epson software, rebooted etc. Drivers are up to date. Sometimes it will suddenly print a page after a very long wait, but when trying again it keeps forever "looking for printer" and giving "communication error". When I pause the print job it shows the printer as online, idle. Start the job again and the error comes immediately back.

Removing and re-adding the printer does not change anything.

Anyone had the same and suceeded in solving it?

I did a clean install of 15.0 and now I cannot add my Epson SureColor SC-P900 anymore. I do see the printer via Bonjour but it cannot be added to due communication problems. Latest Epson driver is installed.

I've tried practically everything - reinstalling drivers, resetting the print service, and nothing worked. In my opinion, this is a bug in this version of Sequoia. But if anyone has found a solution, it would be great to share, because I can't use my printer!

How did you manage to do this? I don't see any of these processes/apps indicated in the Epson table for activation in the "Local network" section. Can you tell me more what have you done? I have Epson M1180 printer.

Update: After a clean install of macOS I don't have any Epson services in Privacy & Security > Local Network that I could grant access to. I also tried connecting my printer via USB and I'm getting the same error.

I have services with granted access such as: Epson Software Updater, Epson Software Updater Agent, EPIJAutoSetupTool2. I don't have any Epson services in Privacy & Security > Local Network that I could grant access to (situation after upgrading do Sequoia). So in my case the communication error must be caused by something else - related to the Sequoia os version.

l3250 printer on a network. It was working fine on sonoma, but after updating to sequoia, mac recognizes the printer. It shows the printer on the network, as idle but the moment i try to print something, it gives communication error. I guess we have to wait for the bug to be fixed.

After a frustrating week of trying to print having down loaded Sequoia and reading the input from jean-franciose, I have become an expert!

I have no idea what I changed inside the MacBook Pro, but it works for me!

I am printing with a Xerox Phaser 7800 GX. I need to be able to select the paper tray, paper type/weight and other printer specific features. The print screen menu does not allow me to select any of these things because my only option is the generic "any printer". If I am able to see my printer, the moment I select it, my application crashes. This occurs from all applications and all file types I have tried. I have also tried the Line Printer Daemon when adding a printer on the network and that doesn't work either.

I have just installed the latest Sequoia update 15.0.1 and printing is still not working.

Can anyone assist. I commented on this thread a while back and ever since have been inundated with replies from Apple even though the problem has been resolved. I must be missing something but can't see a way to stop the messages. Thank you

I cannot get my Canon TR820a printer to work after updating to Sequoia. I've tried everything and the only thing that works is to unplug the printer, reboot the router and then plug the printer back in. It works until the printer turns itself off. Then, it doesn't want to connect to the wifi network even though all passwords are correct. I've gone through the canon manual, downloaded "new" canon software. It is very annoying.

This is not fixed. I am running 15.1, and I see no Epson-related items in Security & Privacy > Local Network. In fact, all items in there are enabled.

I still see only "Any Printer" in the "Format For" dropdown. I can't print borderless from my $4000 MacBook Pro to my $600 printer. Unacceptable!

I have a Brother QL700 label printer and that's not working but my epson xp235 prints but wont scan hoped the update would fix it but sorry to say no luck .... i've updated all drivers etc etc going to try the fix posted by jean-francois228"
