CarPlay not working with iPhone 16 Pro

Delete both phones from car memory and re-install new phone.

Buy a USB A to USB C Cable and your CarPlay will work. Worked with my 2020 Toyota Camry.

Found an old Belkin USB to USB C that came from some random device and it worked on my 2017 Acura RDX.

(iPhone 16 Pro)

The fix seems to be the right type cable.

i had the same issue when I upgrade from a 13 to 16.

this worked for me:

Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone. Forget device of your cars Bluetooth.

then connect via CarPlay.

1. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.

I purchased an Anker cable that was recommended in this post and it fixed the problem. The cable charges and does data transfer.

mine did the same thing but it’s just the cable. idk why but just try a few different brands of usb to usb-c cables and one will work

I solved the issue buying a new cord USB C on Amazon $8 for 2 cords!

We just spent 2 hours troubleshooting and …. It was the cable. It works fine now. 🤦‍♀️

I finally fixed it by actually turning on Content and Privacy Restrictions and then Allow for CarPlay

I don’t know why it was turned off after installation of my old phone’s backup. When I turned it on all of my old settings were there. My car is a 2022 Avalon Hybrid

Try this:

1. Go into your iPhones settings and turn off everything related to CarPlay and restart the iPhone.
2. Do a factory reset on your car's screen.
3. Go back to the iPhone and reactivate CarPlay.
4. Back to the car's CarPlay set-up menu: When prompted, select Forget This Device.
5. Then, re-sync your iPhone to CarPlay.

Someone share on another thread Apple CarPlay Not Working in iOS 18.0 - Apple Community that privacy restrictions need to be enabled for the CarPlay to work and that resolve the issue for me so do check it initially I thought it might be some major issue with my car infotainment but thanks gods it just a setting that was turned off for the reference my car is Toyota Camry and my iPhone is 16 pro.

After more than two hours online with Apple Support and a senior manager of their tech support, we were unable to get my 2019 Mercedes to get CarPlay to start up with my new iPhone 16 Pro. Today I finally solved the issue by purchasing a USB-C to Lightening adapter as many here have done, as well as completely rebooting the Mercedes Benz infotainmant system inside the vehicle by going to "System", then going to "Reset". I hope this is helpful to other Apple users. For many vehicles your Apple CarPlay may not work properly unless you reboot your internal car entertainment system software. Unfortunately this also means having to re-setup all the internal settings of the car to your liking.

Hurray...it works!!! Opel Customer service helped me out and found the final solution!!! I have an Opel Astra from 2018 which doesn't support cordless Carplay. Nothing worked, tried many different cables, even an wireless adapter but the real solution is in the menu. Connect your Iphone with a cable, select in the dashboard screen of your car the option "Projection", if asked for give admission to connect your Iphone and it will show the Carplay menu on the screen. Then, choose in settings of the Iphone Carplay and the car will be shown in the menu. I am thrilled it finally works. Hope it will work for other cars too.

I got it to work!! I changed the settings first and then went and tried a few different cables it ended up being the main cable I was trying with was the issue as well! Seems like you need to use a good quality cable that supports better data transfer?
