Why am I not receiving notifications from my Apple Watch Series 10?

Brand new Apple Watch Series 10. When it is finished charging, I simply do not get the notification on my phone as I did with my old watch.

The settings to notify me (Track Sleep, Charging Reminders) are ON, as before. All notifications for apps on both sides enabled. Watch and phone are up to date.

Steps taken:

Rebooted both watch and phone.

Toggled all settings off and on, on both devices.

Unpaired watch and set up again. Rinse, repeat.

Rebooted both again.

No matter what I do it will not notify me, as the old watch was doing just fine. All settings are correct. Watch is tracking sleep just fine.

Watch talks to phone fine for other things, for instance ECG result notifications pop up on phone after testing.

Ideas?

Update to my original post:

I did a Restore from a Backup from my Previous Watch followed the prompts and this morning the Notifications for "Your Battery is fully charged" has returned.

Initially when i got my new watch 10 i ran it as a new watch, a mistake on my part.

It’s backed up when you unpair your watch. You can choose which backup to restore from when you pair your watch again.

To view the backups on your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap iPhone Storage
  4. Tap Watch
  5. Under Documents & Data, you'll see a list of all your Watch backups, including the date they were taken

My Series 8 backup is still there from September when I traded it in. It even carried over to my new phone.

I’ve given up. All the settings are correct. It’s a bug.

I now realize that my watch is also not unlocking my MacBook as it should. All the settings are set correctly, and the necessary turning off and on settings with interspersed reboots have been performed.

I really miss Steve Jobs. He used all their stuff himself and went after the programmers to actually fix things so “it just works”.

My series 9 just started doing the same thing with my new 16 pro. Had a 14 pro before, and always got the notification that it was fully charged, but not anymore since I switched phones. Tried: toggling the reminder in the sleep settings; force restarting both devices; toggle Watch notifications on/off in the phone settings & unpairing the watch and repairing. No change! Assuming (and hoping) it’s just a bug and an update will hopefully fix it.

Same issue - series 7 on watchOS 17 would alert me on my iPhone 14 Pro Max when fully charged. Series 10 on watchOS 18 with the same phone does not. All setting correct.

I also had to set up the new watch to unlock my Mac. That works fine.

Unrelated, but I wasn’t getting alarms on my watch during sleep. I don’t recall this as an issue with my series 7, but it may have been and I just wasn’t sleeping with it much. But I had to add Alarms to the allowable notifications during sleep focus mode. Now it works fine.

This is definitely a bug. I had a call with support today and the representative just checked the charging reminder setting in watch app. The call dropped in middle and I did not even get a call back, I think apple support is clueless about this issue and they don't have an answer or solution to fix it. That's why they did not even bother to call me back.
