WiFi not connecting after iOS 18 update

Thanks for the tip. I deleted all VPN references in VPN & Device Management for ExpressVPN and my wifi immediately came back. iPad Gen 9. Just updated to ios 18.1 on all my devices. No wifi connection issue on my iPad Air 5 or iPhone 13 after 18.1 update with Express VPN in use. Go figure.

After trying everything for past couple of days, I restarted my phone (again), then turned on airplane mode, waited a bit, and turned it off.

My browsers are connecting now whereas not at all after the update. Also have been having big problems sending texts w/attachments.

Will just have to see if it will last.

I have WPA3 and am also having issues. Switching it to WPA2 is not a clean solution but at this point having 0.1Mbps or lower, then suddenly 900Mbps just a few seconds later, and then suddenly no connection - that is even worse :/

ibiyemi ~ 80% is not healthy and is probably the reason for the Wi-Fi problem. Apple recommends having the battery replaced at around 80% – so have the weak, aging battery replaced and all will be well:

So the solution is that it is the update. But the update evaluates your battery more critically. So when you are not fully charged you will have random reset, and then loss of wifi and Bluetooth. Then if you charge your battery or or plug it into a fast charger and restart you’ll get the WiFi and Bluetooth back. Once my phone drops below 40% it restarts and then kills all my networking and makes my phone worthless. This happened immediately after my update to 18.2. It was fine before. They are now Forcing me to get a new battery or phone. My battery health now dropped to 79% and this is the issue. Thanks Apple. Im questioning staying loyal at this point.

• Forgot the Network I was trying to connect to
• Reset Network Settings
• Rebooted
• Try connecting to WIFI

This worked for me.

This didn’t work for me but if you have any vpns setup or active you will need to delete them and reinstall and Recertify their certifications

restart all the devices solve the problem

Does your iPhone XR still have its original battery?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 18.1.1 and the issue seems to be with free public wifi, even in the Apple Store itself. I tried turning off limiting tracking and private wifi address and didn’t work.

So far what has sort of worked if you have patients is first temporarily turn off mobile data. The copy the router ip address and paste into Safari, not Google chrome. It may not immediately got to a sign on screen but eventually one pops up.

My home and work wifi did not have any difficulties. Hope Apple comes up with a more permanent fix for free public wifi.
