Markup issue/bug IOS 18.0 photo editor

Same here. If anything it’s now worse. Can’t change font style or color, same for shapes.

puzzling is also that it was temporarily working; is this app “working” in the cloud instead of on our phones?

Highly recommend all affected to:

file feedback on this on apples website;

call apple support insist on dealing with photo team member or specialist;

use your face social media to tell apple about this problem (including this page.)

I agree. It’s almost fixed and unless I missed it there was no public acknowledgment

I’m on an SE2 with iOS 18.3 and it is mostly fixed. Still occasionally glitches out, and IMHO it’s still a terrible upgrade in terms of how the tools are organized, and the missed opportunities to improve the file, folder, album structure and saving processes.

Well, I confirmed last night that it is not a phone issue - at least for me. I erased all data from my iPhone 12 Pro after transferring over to my 16 Pro, so it was no longer tied to any Apple account or an iCloud when I took a picture to test. Markup worked just fine. When just the day before yesterday when my 12 Pro was my only phone, I was having issues with markup.

It is now impossible to change the color of arrows from black to anything else in markup.

this is extremely annoying and frustrating for those of us who depend on this app.

I'm experiencing this problem with both my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my 6th generation iPad Pro (12.9") -- iOS 18.1.1 on both devices.

Here's what worked for me:

(iPhone 14 pro/ios 18.1.1)

Open a photo, tap the sliders icon at the bottom. That opened the markup tool and several other edit functions. I hope that's what you're looking for.

i upgraded to 18.2 last night and the problem is not resolved for me. I could choose a color for a shape from default palette but as soon as I tapped for a custom color the editing bar disappears. For text it’s worse. Just tapping the editing bar for text and it disappears.

Upgraded to iOS 18.2 on iPhone 11, still have the same bug. Tapping on the color button to open the advanced color panel for a shape make the color panel appear and disappear immediately.

After that even the basic command panel appears and disappears tapping on the shape.

I had the same issue in my iPhone 16 Pro. I had upgraded to the latest 18.2.1 and the issue persisted …

So I called Apple Support (chat) and after some exchanges he/she transferred me to a specialist.

This tech called me and asked for a screen share to show how I proceeded … and as I proceed to show her my steps, the problem was gone !!!

I am flabbergasted !!!

Still not sure about the issue, only that it disappeared … neither the techie !!

It seemed to have been fixed a couple weeks ago but it’s broken again. You can change the size of the font but you can’t change the style or the color of the font. And draft posts continue to lose all tags or edits as well.

this is absolutely ridiculous to go from something that worked to something that’s completely broken. Let us do our $@&”? jobs, Apple!

Same with me, iPhone 13, iOS 18.0.1

there’s a bug in editing photos within choosing colour of any object or text.

@apple please fix this

iPhone 12 Pro Max here on iOS 18.1 and also having this issue.

Issue is not limited to changing color of text. Also happens when trying to change the color of shapes as well.

Same with IPhone 14 Pro Max with newest 18.1.1 update. No issues prior

This is still broken in iOS 18.2.1. Cannot change text font or color in markup mode when editing a photo. Apple, fix this.

Bought a new phone 16 pro max with iOS 18.2.1 and the bug is resolved
