Predicted Text having a mind of its own??

This feature is just absurd!

It actually makes me laugh, sometimes. For an example if I simply type an “A” here’s what the middle section comes up with…. (photo)

Reddit’s explanations will take you down a rabbit hole & i’m just curious how iA?? Data from previous texts?? Just random word jumble?? Are coming up with, yes, really random things but straight up narratives that actually could make sense.. even with words I have never used…

Any commentary is welcomed, share your thoughts or facts ya know?!

Is this an iOS 18.1 question about Apple Intelligence? Technically, that's still in beta and we can't discuss it here in the forums.

I can tell you that I tried ChatGPT a while back. I was interested in converting some repetitive, boilerplate Python code into Objective-C. It seemed to be the kind of thing that AI could excel at. But it was literally just giving me random text from GitHub and StackOverflow. Totally useless.

I can see how Apple has to get on the AI bandwagon, just for marketing. But it's really just this year's "big data". Everyone will have forgotten about it in a couple of years.
