My word documents not saving on my MacBook Air since I turned off icloud

Hi I created a document in word and saved it to a folder but cannot find it now. It is not in my list of recent documents. I’m using MacBook air


MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.5

It's not entirely clear what happened. You said that you can't find your documents "since I turned off icloud". Maybe you were synchronizing your Desktop and your Documents folder to iCloud, saved a Word document to either of those places, and then turned off Desktop and Documents in iCloud.


If that is the case, the Word document would still be in iCloud and you could find it in iCloud Drive.
