the location on my macbook pro doesn't work. in default maps, google maps, weather app etc, it cannot see it's location. i've checked settings (privacy, date and time), rebooted the machine, and nothing seems to help

Interesting. But I live in a densely populated residential complex, in an apartment building. So there are a lot of other WiFi networks, phones, and other stuff….
I checked with several sites that are similar to one that you’ve mentioned (that one included). Every single one shows me, that it can’t determine my location

Through the magic of modern science, those same instructions work on your Mac, but that is NOT what I intended.
and on the iPhone settings everything turned on. on my Iphone location works perfectly fine.
I don't have THE answer to hand you. This whole geolocation topic, especially as it applies to web browsers, seems shrouded in a certain amount of mystery. I hate that.
yup. it also shows that I'm in the city near to mine, even iPhone sometimes shows me, that I'm located there.
I think it's where my isp is registered.
by the way ip adress of my Mac that is showing up in my router app is different.
and I get the same result on my iPhone. it shows only Ipv4, no ipv6, and nothing like just "ip"
