I installed new software for ScanSnap iX 1600. The automatic message says it is in a "Users/" folder followed by my name. I don't know how to find this folder on my laptop. Please help.

That is your home user folder which contains your Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folders in addition to the Movies, Music, Photos folders.
In the Finder, click the "Go" menu and select "Home" with the house icon which represents your home user folder.
