Unable to locate user folder on MacBook Air

I am searching for my user file on my Mac and everywhere I look I can't find it. I did /User/ and tried multiply users and I did the shortcut for showing hidden files. I need help on how to find it I've never had trouble in the past but now I can't find it.

Click the Finder menu bar click Go > Home.

The window that it presents IS your home folder for the user you are signed into.

Within your Home folder you'll find your Desktop folder, your Documents and Downloads folders and also the Library, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public folders.

EDIT - Also, the keyboard shortcut shift-command-H (⇧⌘H) will always bring the Home folder to you in Finder.
