The iPad doesn’t detect any usb device or pc and I can’t upgrade for the new version

I have a problem with my ipad 2022 pro 12.9, after upgrading to the version iOS 17.5.1, since then the iPad is not recognized by any PC or device, battery is draining quickly and the iPad getting so hot. I tried many times to update in to a new version also to iOS 18 but after downloading and vverification attempt appears a message: “unable to verify”. By PC and Mac it wasn’t possible to do so because it’s not recognised by any device neither by accessing the recovery mood. Please help me to resolve the problem

Be aware that the iPadOS 17.7 update was replaced today with iPadOS 17.7.1. If you have already downloaded (but not successfully installed) the iPadOS 17.7 update, delete the update package as previously described. After verifying that the update package has been removed, perform a forced-restart of your iPad:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

Instead of using your PC to update your iPad, try updating directly from iPad settings to either iPadOS 17.7 or 18.0.1.

Settings > General > Software Update

If you have tried this already - and have been unsuccessful - what precisely do you see when you try? Please post a screenshot of what you see:

Have you tried using a different Wi-Fi network? If there's any sort of firewall or VPN on your usual network, that can block the connection to Apple's update servers. You may need to remove the downloaded update before you attempt the update again:

If you've tried other networks and the update still fails, I'd suggest making an appointment at an Apple Store or authorized Apple service center to have your iPad evaluated.

Regards.

You might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to offer assistance:

Clearly your circumstances are complicating and restricting your available options - this being something that Contributors here can do nothing to alleviate.

If your iPad isn’t recognised when connected, try using a different USB port; if your computer has both USB-C and USB Type-A ports, try a Type-A port. Otherwise, this support page should help with troubleshooting connection difficulties:

The update package that you have already downloaded (but have been unable to install) may be damaged or corrupt. This update package mist be removed prior to attempting the update again.

Settings > General > iPad Storage

Scroll down through the list of installed Apps until you find the update - then tap and select Delete. Once the faulting update package has been removed, you can try again to update the ipad from settings:

Settings > General > Software Update

Well, I already visited Genius Bar in Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP), we don’t really have one because in my country we have only authorized sellers that don’t give any support at all, they know only how to sell and for any problem in the ipad or iphone they send the device to a repair office/lab that you have to contact by yourself and the only thing they do with ipad (because they don’t fix ipads) is to take it and sell you a know one of the same generation and type with a discount of less than 20% of it’s whole price because its out of warranty, and then you still have to wait 14 days to get your product because it has to arrive from the UK.

That’s what it costs us to invest in products of apple.
