Initially the Apple Intelligence upgrade download was stuck on preparing for 10+ hours. I fixed the issue by resetting all of my settings using the reset function and was able to toggle Apple Intelligence on. However now it has been stuck downloading for the entire day so far with no features working on my phone as of yet. Hoping for a fix that will allow the features to begin to function soon.

The key is to turn off Apple intelligence. Set your iPhones region (settings, general) to another language, I picked United Kingdom. Go to Apple intelligence turn back on and power down your phone. When you reboot you should have apple intelligence. Do the same process above but switch back to United States and it should stick. I had to do this a couple times before it worked. Seemed the key was to power cycle the phone
In my case, Apple is not “Intelligent” enough to allow it via data. Even image cleanup needs wifi
WiFi and plugged in. It worked for me. And you can try other methods mentioned on this blog. It did help!
This worked for me. Thank you so much! I went to settings > general > transfer or reset iPhone > Reset network settings.
New iPhone 17 Pro Max. All I had to do was summon Siri to get it fixed.

I did try a device restart first, but that didn't appear to do anything.
Hi guys, I had the same issue.
When they say connect to Wireless, make sure there is no wired connection.
My issue was resolved as soon as I unplugged the dock I have with wired network and just left my MacBook on Wi-Fi.

Literally stuck in the same spot. Made the mistake of turning apple intelligence off then back on and now don’t have the new Siri either. Gonna factory reset my phone tomorrow and see if that fixes it
Yes you will need to use WiFi, but for ANYONE who has updated from the beta 18.2, the only solution will be a fix by Apple. There are no other ways around this. Hopefully they will release the fix soon

Mine doesnt even show that its an option and it should. You've made it farther than I have. It showed it for a brief moment and then took it away and now shows nothing. Another awesome update from apple
Using 16pro max and recently updated 18.1 .
First it took hours to prepare the apple intelligence after waitlisting now I can somehow enable apple intelligence option but can’t use any features cause it stuck on downloading …
Just upgraded and semi bricked the first 16 pro max during the install.
it was in a almost bricked state I’m sure hooking it up to a Mac would fix it but gladly the Verizon staff just gave me a brand new identical one and swapped it . They knew the nightmare we had gone through upgrading our phones with best buy .
don’t upgrade your phone through Best Buy . Ever .

i have a macbook pro m1 pro when apple released the update i joined the waitlist quick after few minute i was able to download apple inteligence today the old Siri came back from nowwhwere , writing tools suspended and the model is at downloading
im using iPhone 15 por max and iOS 18.1.1

Me too. When I go onto settings, it’s says that I have to wait for Apple intelligence to be downloaded before using the features. Earlier it was working normally but now it’s not. Hope the downloading process would be faster
After a long time waiting for the Apple Intelligence to download, a disappointing experience. The feature “ clean up” on the photos, doesn’t works properly. I can’t remove emojis or words without a blur showing up. Instead of “ cleaning “ it just makes a mess. Keep getting “ safety filters applied “ on an emoji or letter or words
