I have recently purchased an iPhone 15 and am having issues with transferring the data from my old iPhone 11. It gets hung up with updating to iOS 18.1 and I find no way around doing this step before continuing on. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I had this happen with a new phone once. I ended up connecting the new phone to my computer using iTunes and let the computer install the update. You can use iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac) to update the new phone, then use Quick Start to transfer the data after the phone is updated.

That is the problem, it shows that I have to update first before moving on with the transfer and it will not finish the update. It downloads the update just fine but gets hung up after that and I see no way to bypass
Why not just let the phone update to 18.1, then it will continue moving your data over?
