How to remove Background Apps on Mac?

Hi, I have recently downloaded OneDrive and deleted it yesterday. However, I noticed that there is still OneDrive in the Allow in Background items in my settings. I went to the LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons folders and deleted all items there and search my Mac for any remaining items related to OneDrive and deleted them all. I have emptied my trash folder but it is still in the Allow in Background section. How do I get rid of it? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Hi,

Just struggeled with the same, and I finally found the culprit (in my case). Note that I checked for and deleted all previously mentioned places to no avail. Ended up using repgrip on my entire drive to locate traces of it.

Have a look in

/System/Volumes/Data/private/var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/

and look at the file loginitems.501.plist

(check if the nasty item is there)

% more loginitems.501.plist

(delete the file)

% sudo su (enter pwd)
% rm loginitems.501.plist

(reboot)

Done!
