Can’t get past "Continue", the gear just spins for a bit and reverts back to "Continue".

New iCloud terms and conditions notification wont clear when I accept it.

There seem to be more than one issues in this thread. Some have language issues in T&C. Others have gear spinning problems. Probably should split this thread into several single issues. But this is where search sent me.

My problem is that the New iCloud T&C won't stop notifying me even after I have read them and accepted them. The answers the community has received from Apple are not working, except logging out of iCloud. It does not seem appropriate that we should have to log out, lose data, in order to solve Apple's problems. But, this issue has not be resolved to my knowledge for a least a year. I don't understand this. Apple techs, is there a solution forthcoming?

Why would a moderator re-title a problem string about Terms and conditions being a Scam due to different languages such the the one below:

iPhone iCloud terms & Conditions update November 2024 - Scam?

Re-tilted to:

How can I dismiss new iCloud Terms and Conditions pop ups on my MacBook Pro?

These are two different topics.

The first one is asking how or why T&Cs come in languages other than the main language of the device.

The second one is asking how to delete T&Cs pop-up, but they probably want to also know why they are getting the "Wheel of Misfortune".

"Wheel of Misfortune" fixes:

Restart computer.

Update system to most recent.

Try T&C again.

If NG, call Apple Support.

I do not like iCloud and don't use it on my phone. I am signed out, all the icloud buttons are turned off and and icloud drive is turned off. When I upgraded to IOS 18 a couple of days ago, I started getting a pop-up notification in Settings asking me to agree to "New iCloud Terms & Conditions." I have declined to agree and would like to get rid of this message. How can I do that?

Here is an update on the new iCloud terms and conditions.

I contacted Apple support and was instructed to update my system on the phone. There was no message to update to a new system until I was on the phone. I did as requested and updated to iOS 18.1. Honestly, I could not see that the update was going to solve the problem and I was correct.

The premonition of the update not being able to solve the problem was correct. I once again called Apple customer support and check the responses to this post in the community discussion. I informed the support person that it seems like many people are having the problem due to the responses.

She took some time to chat with technical personnel, then when she got back to me, she informed me that it is currently under investigation as there are a lot of people having the same problem of receiving the new terms and conditions in a language other than their native language.

She advised that I could just go through and accept the terms and conditions or I could wait for a corrected version of the new terms and conditions after the outcome of the investigation.

Hope that this helps some people.

Still a bit of a mystery, but is does tell us a little more about how Apple distributes upgrades.

I copied Dukige and deleted Spanish from a list of languages that I never chose to select as active languages in my iPhone!

I also reset my iPhone region to Japan. It must have been auto reset to Australia when I was there in August and September and did upgrades.

The upgrade then came with an English forward explanation and the Terms and conditions were in Japanese. Makes some sense if the T&Cs were different for Japan, btw still does not seem logical that Spanish or other languages were the contract languages based on region settings. One would assume that T&Cs are the same all over the world for iCloud and if not why were they being delivered in any language other then the main selected one for each iPhone?

Like to hear a logical explanation from Apple.

The message then came up in English

You can’t really dismiss pop-ups for upgrades or new terms and conditions. In terms of your problem of the computer just churning, try restarting the computer. If you have not restarted in awhile, then that can sometimes complicate simple issues.

If after a restart, you still have the same problem with the computer just churning, then contact Apple service assistance.
