I just went through the same thing and had it fixed . If you go into your setting - general- language &region . Then delete any preferred language that is not your own it fixes the problem

Here is an update on the new iCloud terms and conditions.

I contacted Apple support and was instructed to update my system on the phone. There was no message to update to a new system until I was on the phone. I did as requested and updated to iOS 18.1. Honestly, I could not see that the update was going to solve the problem and I was correct.

The premonition of the update not being able to solve the problem was correct. I once again called Apple customer support and check the responses to this post in the community discussion. I informed the support person that it seems like many people are having the problem due to the responses.

She took some time to chat with technical personnel, then when she got back to me, she informed me that it is currently under investigation as there are a lot of people having the same problem of receiving the new terms and conditions in a language other than their native language.

She advised that I could just go through and accept the terms and conditions or I could wait for a corrected version of the new terms and conditions after the outcome of the investigation.

Hope that this helps some people.

You can’t really dismiss pop-ups for upgrades or new terms and conditions. In terms of your problem of the computer just churning, try restarting the computer. If you have not restarted in awhile, then that can sometimes complicate simple issues.

If after a restart, you still have the same problem with the computer just churning, then contact Apple service assistance.

Why would a moderator re-title a problem string about Terms and conditions being a Scam due to different languages such the the one below:

iPhone iCloud terms & Conditions update November 2024 - Scam?

These are two different topics.

The first one is asking how or why T&Cs come in languages other than the main language of the device.

The second one is asking how to delete T&Cs pop-up, but they probably want to also know why they are getting the "Wheel of Misfortune".

"Wheel of Misfortune" fixes:

Restart computer.

Update system to most recent.

Try T&C again.

If NG, call Apple Support.

Yep. I'm in Australia (phone set to English) and I got the same iCloud T&C update alert in settings yesterday (Nov 6) on my iPhone 13 Pro. Although for me the T&Cs are in Greek. Didn't click Accept because something just feels off about it. I don't have the alert on my Mac Studio or iPad Pro which are logged into the same iCloud account. Also, my husband has the exact same phone on the same iOS version sharing the same iCloud family account and he doesn't have the T&C update prompt either.

Bit creepy. Hope it's a weird Apple bug and and not that some dodgy genius has figured out how to hack the 'Apple ID Suggestions' area in settings in an attempt to phish for peoples' Apple ID passwords :/

Thanks Al, already tried, but Apple support closes at 5PM JST and there is only a phone number. Strange that it closes at 5PM JST as I mostly get the Apple Support in the Philippines or Australia whenever I have pushed for English support.

Actually it was a September 16th update on the bottom of the Spanish Terms and Conditions! Just odd that Apple would mistake an English system in Japan or Japanese as country of geolocation and send a Spanish language file with an English intro?

English. Just reset it to Japanese and the intro now comes in Japanese, but Terms and Conditions are in English!

Someone screwed up the update T&Cs for Japan it seems! Will contact Apple! Still my wife did not get it, but she is on an earlier iPhone model.

I am on an iPhone 14 so it could be the roll out of the AI upgrade.

Thanks anyway,
