Lost of notes from agreeing to apple icloud terms of service and conditions

right at first, i agreed to apple's icloud's new terms of service and conditions, and it deleted my notes that weren't backed up from icloud. i am missing 4 months worth of notes because of this. i dont know why agreeing to their terms of service reset all my notes and deleted a whole chuck of my notes. im currently sobbing bc i lost so many of my important notes please help. how do i retrieve back my notes?? ive tried turning on "on my iphone" in notes setting, nothing reappeared

I was freaking out!! But managed to get them back.

How to get notes back! Follow below steps

setting -> iCloud ->

(look for small grey heading that says apps using iCloud listed below is photos, icloud drive…. Click Show All)

-> turn the notes toggle green (turn on)

* it stopped working because syncing from iCloud got turned off in the update
