My MBAir needs update for the EFI firmware

I have been looking around but find no support for it.
I have reinstalled Catalina 10.15.7
But still no update firmware.
Could anyone advise please?

If you install the latest supported macOS to an external volume the firmware should be updated and the internal volume is left intact (but do a backup first).
You would need to install a newer version of macOS in order to get firmware newer than Catalina can provide. Apple no longer provides individual standalone firmware updaters so you must get them through macOS updates & upgrades.
The MBAir 6,2 designation is too vague since it covers models from 2013 to 2017. At the very least you can upgrade macOS to 11.x Big Sur and with the later models up to macOS 12.x Monterey. Why worry about the firmware version on such an old system?
FWIW, this appears to be the only firmware update available for a Mid 2013 MacBook Air.
Download and run SilentKnight. Click on Check and then on Install All Updates.
That should get the EFI firmware up to date for your system.
Thank you for the reply, I know that the little machine is eligible to run Big Sur but that was not my question. I was hoping to get help on the EFI firmware issue. Thanks anyway
Hi, thanks that worked. I had another ssd which I putted in the MBA and installed Big Sur. Than I changed the ssd back and all works fine and firmware is up to date.
