Why is my MacBook Pro Dock disappearing unexpectedly?

Hi

I'm new to Mac and I frequently switch between apps and windows. I need the Dock to be constantly visible on my screen, but it keeps disappearing. I've tried turning off the 'Automatically hide and show Dock' option in System Preferences, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to force the Dock to stay visible all the time?

The user setting is the way...you can try toggling and test, then come back to you you preferred settings

>Settings>Desktop & Dock

It does not show however if in Full Screen Mode

You can try a SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support to sort anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

no insight you can try resetting the Dock from Terminal.app copy and paste

defaults delete com.apple.dock && killall Dock

this may require you repopulating your Dock with your preferred apps(?)
