Adding New Video Files to a Folder used in FCP X

I have an FCP X event/project containing several folders of video files, sorted by using keyword collections. These files are not stored within the library itself, they are stored on an external hard drive.

If I add a new video file to the folder on the external drive OUTSIDE of FCP (a download from the net and a save using Finder) how do I import just the new files into my FCP keyword collection in the project? I thought about trashing the folder within FCP and then importing the whole folder again, but that seems kind of drastic. Is there another, "cleaner" way to do this?

Find the files in the folder you want to add and drag them to FCP into the keyword collection in the event you want. This will add the keyword to the files. If you want to leave the files in place make sure you see the hooked arrow when you drag them into the application. If you see the green + button, hold the Option key to change to leave in place.
