Apple Pay Not Working After Update

I received prompts to update to iOS 18.1.1 yesterday on phone (14 Plus)and iPad, now none of the payment options that I have stored in my wallet are working. I tried powering both off and restarting, removing then adding back each card. Tried both the add new card and use previous card options, nothing is working. I’ve tried three different cards from two different banks. I can add the cards to my wallet but can’t use them. Same issue on iPad and iPhone. Is anyone else having this problem? Any recommendations?

Did you remove the VPN profile at this path,


iPhone > Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > remove VPN profile


You will also need to reset network settings.



Reset your network settings


If you're using iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.


If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.


This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

OK, check these three locations please;


Each card also has an address associated with the account. Please follow this path;


iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes


iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > Shipping Address (edit or delete address


iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transaction Defaults (scroll down) > Shipping Address > Edit (upper right corner of screen) > either Enter New Shipping Address, add new address or edit/delete addresses

Apple made changes when iOS 18 was introduced that effect EFTPOS cards. The changes were in regard to banking regulation changes. Your issue seems specific to Australia and I’m urging that those affected contact Apple Support in Australia.

iPhone SE in the Uk, cannot add cards to Apple Pay walllet after IOS 18 update. Have tried multiple cards. Have tried updating shipping address. Can add a card as a payment method in iCloud. Same card in wallet just says 'card not added' after accepting issuer T&Cs. Seems to be an issue with wallet. Spike to Apple support who suggested reinstalling wallet. Also removed (inactive) VPN. Still not working. Ios18 seems to have busted.

Yeah, I was searching for reported issues too but when I kept running into issues, I thought I’d throw it out here. When I try to use the Apple Pay option on a site, it fails. I’ve tried on various sites. It’s not my card because when it doesn’t work and I go with the credit card option, using one of the cards saved, it works. Mine was working perfectly fine prior to the update.
