iOS 18.2 - Siri's Voice - Sounds different from preview during normal use

After a successful update to iOS 18.2, Siri's voice sounds different from the preview within settings. Is there a way to fix this? I prefer the way Siri's voice sounds in the preview/the way it has always sounded. (Australian - Voice 1)

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

Yep, that worked. I disabled Apple Intelligence and Siri’s voice is back to the way it was pre iOS 18.
I’ll use Apple Intelligence, as soon as you put the voice back to the way it was.

When you say you'll use Apple Intelligence, as soon as "you" put the voice back, indicates you may think you are speaking with Apple here. You aren't. This is a user to user only forum, which Apple doesn't read for feedback.

If you want Apple to know your thoughts, you need to use this link --> Product Feedback - Apple

Keep in mind this link works both ways. I have already used it to thank Apple for making Siri sound more human and personally, I hope they NEVER make Siri sound as it did before.

Completely agree. Not only that, but Siri’s voice is now completely inconsistent.

Her tone sounds completely, different depending on what you’re asking…?

PLEASE FIX THIS!

Many thanks!

Yes, Apple changed the Siri voice with iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence. Personally, I find Siri sounds more human in her or his responses. I like the change. If you, however, don'd like it, provide feedback to Apple here --> Product Feedback - Apple

I personally will use the same link if Apple changes it back. It works both ways.

So you’re saying that currently Australian Voice 1 doesn’t continue to sound the way it does when you listen to the option to select as it does in actual use? Have you tried restarting your device and checking to see if things work after? Sometimes after an update it helps correct glitches. Have you tried cycling through the other voices to see if when in actual use it sounds correct?

Siri now sounds emotionally cold, disinterested, and sadly like a fatigued corporate foot soldier just doing her job to get thru the day.

She sounds depressed, and makes me feel depresssed. I feel like I’m bothering her and annoying her with my dumb stupid requests to the point where I’m about to stop using it.

Siris responses are also weirder, more robotic, more abrupt, and there are more mistakes. Is this all happening (iOS 18.2) because I’m using Apple Intelligence?

It's funny how we hear things differently from others. To me, Siri is much more natural sounding than before. Most definitely NOT robotic. More conversational. And most friends I know who have the new Siri, think the same. Either way, you can't change it. But if you don't like it, you can provide feedback to Apple here --> Product Feedback - Apple

Personally, I hope they never change it back. Siri was to my ears, VERY robotic until the new Siri launched. I have actually used the link I provided to let Apple know I think Siri sounds the best Siri has ever sounded. The link works both ways........

So you’re saying that currently Australian Voice 1 doesn’t continue to sound the way it does when you listen to the option to select as it does in actual use? —Yes, this is correct.

Have you tried restarting your device and checking to see if things work after? —Yes, I have powered down my iPhone, waited several minutes, and rebooted. I have tried this a few times and there is no change.

Sometimes after an update it helps correct glitches. Have you tried cycling through the other voices to see if when in actual use it sounds correct? — Yes, I have tried cycling through other voices for Siri. Other voices work just fine. My current voice setting does not even when I revert back to the setting. I prefer Australian 1.

Only when I use the disability feature to read text onscreen aloud is Siri’s voice correct/matches the preview in settings. Any other use of Siri (holding down side button or hey Siri) results in this “off” sounding voice.
