In my Contacts list I have set up groups for different purposes. In attempting to remove a contact from a group list, I cannot find a way to remove someone. What's the method to do this?

Select the contact and hit the backspace (delete) key. You'll get an option to remove the contact from the group or to delete it completely from contacts.

I did use this from my iCloud menu, and it did the trick. However, in a Group List, pressing the delete key does not generate an option.
I succeeded in removing the information by editing the contact field by field. This generates a No Name at the bottom of the list, which I cannot delete either.
I thought there would be a short cut.
Are you in Contacts on your Mac or somewhere else? The method I gave works for Contacts in Mac for me on 15.1.1.
