How do you turn off GameMode using keyboard in MacBook Air?

How do you turn off GameMode using keyboard, like on a Mac? For all Playrix games when you purchase during a game the screen goes white and you can't ge the game back. Sometimes you can go full screen (GameMode), but screen goes all black and you are stuck again. Have to shut down, and lose the game and all benefits. This is due to Game Mode. Playrix refuses to help or reimburse. Seems like GameMode designed only for phones.

Hello, wikiman!

It looks like Apple screwed up again. No way to turn off GameMode on a Mac that is in the mode unless you are using a controller or on a phone. No keyboard shortcut or way to get out except quit the game.

What do you mean? varjak paw (the person you replied to) said that according to the Apple Support article Use Game Mode on Mac, you can turn it off the Menu Bar.

If you want to be able to turn it off with a keyboard shortcut, then just tell Apple so by submitting a feature request on the MacBook Air Feedback page. It’s very likely that Apple hasn’t even heard about this idea yet; and if they have, they might have not heard it from enough people to warrant attention. Trust me, feedback works. Features like Send Later in Messages, Cycling mode in Maps, and many others features and even the smallest of software tweaks would have never been added had it not been for people’s feedback.

And yes, there are major problems with MacOS 15.2 and Playrix, but they don't care because they got your money. I have dumped all of their games and suggest others to do so also.

Instead of suggesting others to dump all their games, how about you suggest that everyone contact the developers? The more that people contact Playrix, the more attention the bug will get. Also, your posts about Playrix’s issue with Game Mode are irrelevant here because it’s not Apple’s fault that Playrix’s games aren’t working. It’s up to developers to make sure that everything runs smoothly on new features software updates (like Game Mode); that’s why Apple releases beta versions of their OS updates to developers so early. Of course if you want to throw away all their games, it’s up to you.

You said in your original post:

Seems like GameMode designed only for phones.

Game mode was on the Mac for an entire year before it made it on to iPhones and iPads, so it’s doubtful that a feature was designed for phones that was originally designed for Macs.

Remember, you can always tell Apple your thoughts by submitting feedback on their online feedback page.

I hope this helps, and I hope the Game Mode issues will be solved by developers soon!

UPDATE: The original question was for a keyboard shortcut to turn off GameMode. There is the ESC key, but not all apps (such as Playrix) accept it. GameMode is exacerbated by MacOS 15.2 (automatic turns on, but not off), but not really an issue if apps follow the rules. There are other major issues with Playrix apps that make the problem much worse, but they are choosing not to fix them in the short turn, so beware.

Maybe you are not familiar with GameMode (at least on a Mac). It is full screen, so there is no menu bar. I have already suggested a keyboard shortcut, but no answer. You are right that most likely a Playrix issue as they seem to be the only one with the problem. I can get out of full screen any time (SC, menu bar shows, etc.) with other apps, but not theirs. I have submitted bug reports, but they say they can't help. Suggest to reboot, etc, etc.
