Macbook pro makes wooshing sound and then restarts

I was using my Mac (MacBook pro 13) normally and for some reason (can't remember) I decided to restart it, when it finished it was just waiting on the lockscreen when all of the sudden I hear this "woodshing" sound and the Mac turns off and when it loads up again it shows this message I waited for it to load and tried to put my passcode in but it made the same sound and restarted again, I kept trying but it happened again and again.

I don't know how to fix or check anything if it doesn't even load after I put my passcode.

That is a Kernel Panic. Try booting into Safe Mode to see if it will boot macOS & let you reach the Desktop. If you can boot into Safe Mode, then post a couple of the Kernel Panic logs here so we can examine them. The Kernel Panic logs are located in "/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports".....if none are there, then check the "Retired" subfolder. Kernel Panic file names usually have "kernel" and/or "panic" in the name. Post them here using the "Additional Text" icon which has an icon that looks like a piece of paper on the forum editing toolbar.


You can also try running the third party app EtreCheck and posting the complete report here so we can examine it for possible clues.

You can also try disconnecting all external devices in case one of them may be causing a problem.

internet recovery or the diagnostic can take a quarter hour to load


if it crashes after loading, you Mac has a serious hardware issue.


if you are not making progress, you should make an appointment for a free evaluation at the Genius Bar of an Apple-owned store.


Apple-Authorized Service Providers are free to charge an evaluation fee, which exists to keep you from using up expensive technician time for frivolous issues. If Apple or you pay for services including parts replacement, ask for a rebate of the evaluation fee.


I dearly hope you have a recent BACKUP of your files, because serious problems like this one typically mean your files are not recoverable, and can not be found to be returned to you after service.

Hello thanks for replying!

So I've tried booting it into safe mode multiple times and currently I'm even trying to factory reset but it either keeps turning off or won't go pass internet recovery.

Sometimes it fully loads and when it's done it makes the wooshing sound and then turns off, and other times it doesn't even get to half the bar and turns off.

I've tried pressing command + R + power button to factory reset and it only worked once and it went back to the internet recovery screen.
