How can I track purchases with Apple Pay card numbers?

I have read in the discussions about the changing card and virtual numbers which I have noticed too. It does make accounting more difficult and I can see why it makes returns more difficult or impossible. Is there a way to find out what the device card number is so I can at least see what I have purchased with the device and what I’ve purchased with the physical card? I like that it’s more secure but it does cause a lot of confusion when looking at receipts.

thank you, whoever!

Hi, Jeff,

Thank you very much for your reply. My question was not explicit enough for your answer…

what I meant to ask is this: sometimes I make purchases with the physical card issued by Apple and sometimes the device. When I go to the wallet to look up what the number is, it only has one number but my receipts have different numbers…only the last four digits, as you said, but those numbers seem to change fairly often so I can’t tell which “card” was used. I have to keep my receipts apart from my clients, and it’s harder to do when the last 4 digits keep changing. Is that any clearer? The only thing I can think to do is make a note of what the number and device I use at the time to determine what is mine.

thanks again for your reply! Any more information you can give me is very much appreciated!

Apple Card has three sets of numbers. The physical set that is used when you swipe the card or insert the chip. These numbers do not change and you have access to the last 4 digits in your Apple Wallet app. This set is used at merchants physical locations.

The Apple Pay numbers that we previously discussed, do not change and you have access to the last 4 digit in the Apple Wallet. This set is used everything you use Apple Pay (Tap-To-Pay).

The virtual card that is in your Apple Card in your Wallet app. The numbers are user changeable and the bank can also change them. You have full access to the 16 digit account number. You can also see the expiration date and the security code. The dynamic code, called Advance Fraud Protection, changes the 3 digit code at regular intervals. This set is used online when the merchant doesn’t accept Apple Pay.

Three sets of numbers and three different use scenarios.
