External Seagate shows Read Only Permissions

I have a Mac Book Pro Retina 2015 and the permissions for my external hard drive says read only.

I do Control right , but there are is no Padlock or ability to edit .. You say remove apps .. how do i check for Seagate Apps or resolve to be able to edit permissions .. or reformat drive to start again so I can save files to this external drive ..

some background:

sometimes drives that encounter Directory damage LOCK the directory in response to detecting that issue. That mens you can not add any new entries to the damaged Directory. Now the drive is read-only until it is repaired with Disk Utility.

alternatively, if you did not initialize the drive when new using Disk Utility, then the drive may have been left in a non-Mac format that is inherently read-only, like Windows New Technology File System (NTFS).
