What is best way to organize photos from old iMac to new imac

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

First, on a Mac, use command-option-shift-v to paste text without crazy formatting.

I'm not sure what you're asking-- are you using iPhoto, an app that was discontinued 10 years ago, on your old iMac? If so, what OS are you using on that system? Are you asking about converting iPhoto organization to Photos format on the new iMac? If so, probably the best thing to do is to use the trusted 3rd party app PowerPhotos ($30). It will import the pictures and make all the iPhoto "Events" into Photos "Albums."

I need to transfer I photo pictures from a 2013 iMac Catalina version 10.15.7 to a new I mac

sequoia os. Should I install the Powerphoto app to the new I mac before transfer? In 2013 when I transferred from an older computer to the 2013 I mac, everything was scrambled and some pictures were deleted, will Powerphoto hopefully prevent a recurrence. Thanks
