My upper button for volume is not working. I took it for repair but they told me it’s water damaged and they can not fix it, as the insurance do not cover water damage. But everywhere I read about iPhone 14 Pro Max is water resistant it can be in water up to 30 min ect. My phone is not been in water and still it’s been water damage that’s been apple adds are wrong

Water resistance measurements are conducted in controlled laboratory tests. This really has nothing to do with conditions in the real world......splashes, drops, etc.
Water that splashes onto a phone can damage the phone.
The same is true for water resistance claims for watches.....(not just Apple watch).
