This is probably more properly handled by the PowerPhotos people, but

this is a bit of my PowerPhotos window. I have a bunch of Libraries, and I've chosen Favorites, which is the one connected to iCloud (and so, my System Folder.) View I have chose to see picture files in a list. There are some funky looking icons, and they tell you what they do if you hover over them. The left one says "Find duplicate photos in a library"

Here it's showing my albums. You might have to flip the little arrow to see inside of folders.

I hope that helps…

You're presented with a list of possible criteria you could use to choose which of a pair of duplicates to merge. You can choose the one with the greater height, or you could prefer the one that's in a particular album, etc. Each of these has an up/down arrow that allows you to change it to another criterion from a list.

Clicking the minus will remove that criterion, so that it's not considered. Clicking a plus will add another criterion that you can choose from.

Try it and see what happens! I If you re using this, then you'd want to remove the ones that won't be useful to you in choosing a keeper.

thanks ! I have a couple of issues: I purchased it. Have license key number. . but the page I start out with doesn't look like the one I saw on the demo which had to be a purchased one, since they were doing a lot of things with the photos/albums. And it only is showing photos , the System Library. but not the albums that I have in my Mac Photo app. I downloaded all originals from the cloud to my Mac Photos . I can't see a place to ask a direct question. Did I fail a step? thanks!

Sorry to bother you with this. I don't even have that page. I went back to the email that they sent me and downloaded again.replaced what was there before. No luck. I have good internet signal , plenty of room, Mac up to date, photos up to date. emptied my trash, got rid of some cache that I knew needed to go. (adobe). is there something in apple that I need to click off? I have emailed them twice , to their support, no response. I got it from FatCat. have I been took? this is what I have when I open Power Photos.

Looks like mine, but I have a bunch of Libraries, and you have one-- apparently called Default Library with 17000 pictures. You are looking at the Library view, and you are using the Grid view instead of the List view that I showed. You have not opened the Media Types or My Albums. I don't know what Albums you have.

So your window looks just like mine except that

  1. I have more Libraries
  2. you are using grid rather than list view
  3. you either don't have albums or you're just not opening the list in the sidebar. (I had pointed out about opening the list in the previous post.)

You mention emailing Fat Cat Software, but not getting a reply. How quickly do you think they should respond? Most business email you're usually happy to get a response tin 24-48 hours-- how long has it been?

Weren't you going to use the duplicate finder?

it shows the one library ( but there are 2 more when I check, not so worried about that right now, but on Photos app I have a whole 32 Albums plus a lot of albums from i Photo. none will show on Power Photos when I click on the albums. Media will open some media. I did go into my system settings and made sure Power Photos had full access to photos . This is the only view I have . no options to push anywhere. It is kinda like I got the free version. I emailed them yesterday . yes I was going to use the duplicate finder, but Power Photos sold me on how much more it could do.. in organizing. I have plenty space, am up to date . I thought I had found the answer for my Photos. thanks for your help.
