I just bought Power Point. to organize and delete duplicates . if I make a back up on an external drive first, will I be safe to use it ?

If I had not entered my name and key yet, that's where I would do so.
You need to expand the Albums listing in the second section for the right:
Which ever of the duplicates that have the largest pixel dimensions is the one I'd normally choose.
What formats are you having to choose between?
All of them from jpeg , raw , tiff, heif etc. and I don’t understand the plus and minuses. I was wondering if heif is chosen , would I be able to share with others.
What do you mean by the "plus and minuses"? Post a screenshot of what you're referring to.
the one for format went away , I guess when I clicked on one of the plus or minuses. So I think I am going to just to go with it is selected.
