Will apple stop the producing MagSafe 2 chargers?

Is apple planning to stop the production of Magsafe 2 chargers? I see 60W Magsafe2 chargers are already out of stock at many places around the world. I guess the situation will be the same for 85W Magsafe 2 chargers soon, cuz new macbooks aren't using Magsafe 2 anymore.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18

No one here (we are not Apple employees) can tell you what Apple decides to do with their products.

FWIW, Apple defines three levels of support for their devices: Supported, Vintage, & Obsolete. The following support article provides more details: Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty

Basically, what this comes down to is that if you have a Mac that is 7+ years old, don't expect that Apple will still be providing accessories that will be compatible with it. You will have to look to third-party sources for them.

Hi, really appreciate your response, and that's exactly what I am thinking.

I used to purchase lightening to 3.5 mm adaptor for my iphone. However, they suddenly told me that they don't produce it anymore sometime last November. People on the internet said that's because new iphones are using Type-C.

I guess this will be the case for magsafe2 charger as well. New macbook pro/air are using magsafe 3, so apple will stop producing magsafe2 chargers soon probably.

This is a big problem for me haha, because although my mac is 7+ years old, it still have 200/500 GB left with all functions normal. So I need to use it for another 7-10 years probably. If so, I may need to buy two chargers instead of one.
