Sidebar in Photos mixed up and added single photos

I'm using Sequoia 15.3

Previously I had various albums titled in alphabetical order in my sidebar.

Recently the various albums have been broken up into two parts, top and bottom, and between the two parts are HUNDREDS of photos with a date for each of the various photos, ie April 2, 2014, etc.

I only want albums of course, and would like to get rid of all the singles.

Hope someone can assist me on this one.

iMac 24″, macOS 15.3

I seemed to have solved the problem. In my sidebar of Photos, there is a title called 'iPhoto Events' with a mark beside it. When I clicked on the mark, the sidebar went back to normal. Attaching a screenshot so you can see what I'm referring to. Thanks for stopping in!. (the black line and dotted lines and arrows are mine).

Case closed.

Wow-- I've kept my iPhoto events, too, even though it's been 10 years since iPhoto was discontinued.

Those are not pictures, they are albums. iPhoto Events is a folder. We put albums into folders to help organize them. I my earlier screenshot the album "25 02 06 McKinney" is in a folder named "2025" that holds albums from this year. Actually, I will create folders for 2025 02 and 2025 01 for months. I've got so many albums, that I would have to scroll a long way to get to the 1980s if I didn't use folders.

Folders have little arrows like > to mean closed and ⌄ to mean open, just like folders in the List view in Finder.

A screenshot sure helps!

I'm not quite sure what you're seeing. This is part of my sidebar for Mac Photos:

The top part has Apple things, like Utilities, etc. Then under Albums (with the little arrow next to it pointing down) you see Smart Albums, Folders, and albums-- not pictures. That sounds like what you have normally seen.

Can you include a screenshot of like mine that shows us what you see?

I was just thinking, could these photos that you see be albums with only one picture? Anyway, please send a screenshot…
