i want to switch my maps back to gulf of mexico

I don’t want my map showing this farce of gulf of America. I’d like it to show the correct name, Gulf of Mexico. I’d like to change it back?

You can report an issue with any location on Apple Maps. The steps to do that are:

  1. Open Maps
  2. Navigate to the location you'd like to report. E.g. Gulf of America. (see screenshot)
  3. Click on the location and a context menu pops up.
  4. Choose "Report an Issue" and follow the prompts.
  5. For example, you can choose "Name is wrong". It will let you propose the correct name for the place and submit.

A Norwegian fishing boat came into Parrsboro Harbor in the middle of the night. Ship was tied up and everyone went to sleep. They woke up in the morning. to find the boat resting at an angle in the "cradle" (a wooden frame next to the dock to keep boats from sinking into the mud). Apparently it took a while to calm them all down.

I, on the other hand, as a young person at that Jersey shore, asked someone how it could be low tide if the water was still there. They thought I was nuts.

I like to go out and look for critters at low tide. But you really need a more moderate tidal flow for that. San Diego is good for tidal pools. But at least the Bay of Fundy is warmer in the summer. 😄

You used to be able to dig for clams. But, due to over harvesting, pollution and climate change, the population has dwindled and it has been banned. The Economy Clam Festival is no more.

+1

Especially when it is something that they probably had never seen using Maps unless they were to zoom out enough to show the entire North America. Not something I have ever needed to do when looking for someplace to eat or to get driving directions to some place I am going.

It is almost like everything else that is happening that will have a financial impact on their pocket book is fine, but changing a label on map that is never seen is the problem everyone should be concerned about. Hey everyone, look over here while you put that $10 a dozen eggs into your basket!

I concur. At best the Gulf of Mexico could only rightfully be called the Gulf of America for only 12 miles out to sea. The rest of the gulf is known worldwide as the Gulf of Mexico. I am so disappointed that Apple is that afraid of Trump.

As IdrisSeabright said earlier today, it amazes me that, of all the things one could be upset about right now, this is the thing some people fixate on. This is a mere distraction.
