i want to switch my maps back to gulf of mexico
I don’t want my map showing this farce of gulf of America. I’d like it to show the correct name, Gulf of Mexico. I’d like to change it back?

You can report an issue with any location on Apple Maps. The steps to do that are:
- Open Maps
- Navigate to the location you'd like to report. E.g. Gulf of America. (see screenshot)
- Click on the location and a context menu pops up.
- Choose "Report an Issue" and follow the prompts.
- For example, you can choose "Name is wrong". It will let you propose the correct name for the place and submit.

In the meantime I deleted both maps including google maps
MapQuest as of 2-14-2024 uses Gulf of Mex.
Android uses google and google has made the switch. I have confirmation from my friend in india that google has the name as the Gulf of Mexico (gulf of America) underneath
Not only that, Apple deleted the negative review of Apple Maps that I left on the app store complaining about the name change. Censorship!

Yes, that’s what happened to me! Submit is greyed out in the Report an Issue screen.
Mapquest correctly lists it as Gulf of Mexico.
On my phone, they don’t even show the fake name for the Gulf of Mexico so I can’t even report, but if you do a pin it shows and can’t report the same way. Every other name is showing!
Sadly, they have disabled the reporting feature for Gulf of America. I called it something else and reported it.
