How do I ensure push identity verification is sent to my new iPhone instead of the old one for Chase app?

I had to upgrade my phone from iPhone 13 Pro Max to an iPhone 16 Pro Max. I kept the same number. Nothing has changed except for the model of iPhone.

I needed to log into the Chase website on my Macbook Pro, and it tried sending a push identity verification to my Chase app on the iPhone. I am not talking about verification codes via text: I am talking about the identity verification that pops up on the app and asks if you are attempting to log in. You click "yes" and it logs you in on your mac ... The Chase website would NOT allow me to verify my identity any other way.

At first, when I tried it, it showed my old iPhone 13 Pro Max as the destination for the notification. I didn't think much of it and figured it wouldn't matter since the number was the same.

That alert failed on the new phone.

Then I logged into the Chase app on my new iPhone and tried again. After that, the Chase website correctly showed it was sending the push identity verification to my NEW iPhone, the 16 Pro Max.

However, it continues to send the push verification to my old iPhone Pro Max 13, which I discovered by charging it again and seeing all the notifications upon the screen lighting up and connecting to wifi ... thank god I still have it here as I prepare it for trade-in, as I had a banking emergency.

How do I get the site to correctly send the push identity verification to my new iPhone? Again, I am logged into the app on the new iPhone. I am afraid to completely erase the old phone now, as I need online banking via the web for many things. Thanks.

ETA: I finally got in online using the push on the OLD phone to verify it's me ... and I went to the security & privacy settings to check linked devices ... the NEW iPhone Pro Max 16 is there as an active device and the OLD iphone is NOT listed at all ...

Would deleting the app on the old iPhone do the trick? I can't erase it just yet ... Thanks.

ETA: Also the old phone was not on/not connected to wifi when I realized all the notifications might be getting sent there ... when I powered it up, there they were.

This is a good question to ask Chase support.

Chase is one of the better banks in their implementation of fraud prevention measures, in my opinion. None of the notifications are from Apple and as razmee209 correctly states, it’s a Chase Bank issue. I’d think deleting the iPhone from your connected devices would fix the issue. If it’s a 2FA code, Chase may default to the other device as an added measure of protection.
