cable for my external hard drive with a usb port
I just bought a new Macbook Air M4 and I have an external hard drive with a usb connection. What switch do I need for the external hard drive to connect to the new Macbook?

You’ll need a USB-A to USB-C plug adapter or cable.
A quick search on Amazon or Google will show you what you need.
If this is a portable, bus-powered hard drive, it might have a Micro USB 3.0 B connector on the drive itself, and it might have come with a Micro USB 3.0 B to USB-A cable. Micro USB 3.0 B is a flat, crimped connector that appears to consist of two sections "glued" side by side, when viewed head-on.
In that case, one option would be to replace the cable with a Micro USB 3.0 B to USB-C one.
iHappened to be midway in search & thought maybe to help?
