How can I reinstall macOS Sonoma from recovery after deleting Macintosh HD in Disk Utility?
My MacBook Pro M1 Max 2021 froze for over 12 hours during a recent update and I had to start it in recovery and erased everything (including Macintosh HD volumes.
Now when I try to install MacOS Sonoma from recovery the internal SSD does not show up as an option at all.
The diskutil list command in Terminal (in recovery mode) lists 3 different disks and I can’t erase any of them because they seem to be in use in recovery?
/dev/disk0 (internal, physical)
/dev/disk3 (disk image)
/dec/disk4 (synthesized)
When I try to erase the entire internal APPLE SSD volume it can’t unmount disk0 because it’s in use by process 0 (kernel) and I also can’t erase or unmount any of the individual disks because they seem to be in use too.
