Can I exchange a damaged US-bought iPad for a new one in the UK under warranty?

My iPad is damaged due to a problem with the chip, I went to the Apple Store in Germany and they told me there is no way to fix it and that the warranty doesn’t cover its exchange in Europe but rather only in the US.

Since I bought in the US I was wondering if I could exchange it in another country for example UK or if I have to ship it to the US and get it exchanged there.

Also do I need a receipt? Thank you very much

For devices purchased within the United States, Apple's one year Limited Warranty is not honoured internationally. As such, your US-derived warranty will only be valid within the US.

By contrast, for Apple devices purchased within the European Union, the warranty will be honoured within any EU Member State - and will be for a minimum of two years (NB: Since Brexit, the UK is no longer an EU Member State).

Also be aware that AppleCare+ plans are similarly limited to the country/region of purchase.

You should note that Apple will not ship internationally or to known freight forwarders.
