Green Screen Issue in IPhone 14

I bought an iPhone 14 in December 2022. Recently, I saw a message stating that the "software will be updated tonight." However, when I opened WhatsApp the next morning, the screen suddenly turned green. I took the device to the Chennai Service Center yesterday evening, where they charged ₹2000 and informed me that they would send it to the Bangalore Center for diagnosis.

This morning, I received a call from the Chennai Service Center stating that it was a hardware issue and that the display needed to be replaced. When I asked for more details, they said they had sent photos of my phone to Bangalore and concluded the issue based on that.

My phone is out of warranty, but I haven’t dropped it, and the screen has no visible damage. The green screen appeared all of a sudden without any prior issues. I also raised a case with Apple Care, and they mentioned that while this issue is common in iPhone 13, it is not in iPhone 14. They suggested replacing the display, which would cost around ₹27,000.

I find it concerning that a display replacement was recommended without a proper diagnosis. Why should I replace the display without a thorough examination of the actual problem?

iPhone 14, iOS 18
