The One Drive Files are not visible when I open the app. I can find them when I look for them. So the access is available.
inhabe OneDrive on 2 IPhones and two Computers. Never had this problem before.
I uninstalled the app, rebooted the IPad and reinstall med the One Drive app. Same problem.

Speaking of personal experience, Microsoft OneDrive can be finicky. Try deleting the OneDrive App from your iPad - and then perform a forced-restart before reinstalling OneDrive.

Having installed the Microsoft OneDrive App on your iPad, you must sign-in to your Microsoft Account from the OneDrive App.
Dependent upon your Microsoft Account settings, you may need to have your connection authenticated from another trusted device where you are already signed-in - or, alternatively, you may also need to install and authenticate using the Microsoft Authenticator App.
Until signed-in with the correct credentials, you'll not be be able to access any files that are stored in OneDrive.
Have you actually tried removing and reinstalling OneDrive on your problematic iPad - as I had previously suggested?
Installing the OneDrive App on a different device proves nothing - and won't resolve a potential problem affecting a different iPad.
As I said earlier, I did twice uninstall, reboot and then reinstall One Drive app.

And of course I did not expect that downloading One Drive on my old IPad would solve the problem, what I am suggesting is that the old IoS works well with OneDrive, the new version does not.
I installed it using my personal MSfT account and I authenticated the process.

I think it has to do with the new IoS. I just downloaded One Drive to my old I pad. It worked perfectly well. No hastle.
It is the responsibility of the developer of One Drive to be sure
that their product works with iPadOS. What did Microsoft say when
you contacted them for assistance with their app/service?
I have not contacted them yet. I was hoping for a solution from this community.
I don't doubt that you have an issue - however, yours is an isolated report. Many if not most users, myself included, have no difficulty accessing OneDrive resources using iPadOS 18.3.2.
