How to handle a stolen Apple delivery and filing a police report?

I recently ordered a phone and a adapter from Apple and it was supposed to be delivered on march 11, I went outside and checked and it wasn’t there so I filed a report with UPS and they said and showed me that it got delivered at my door but I wasn’t home to sign it so idk why they would deliver considering they sent me a email saying signature required for delivery. After they called me and told me that they couldn’t do anything so I had to call Apple and they told me to file a police report so I did it and got the report approved and got a copy of the report march 17. It’s now march 25 and I haven’t heard a word from the police or apple. I know it hasn’t been very much time but I’m wondering how much more do I have to wait? (like a estimate) I’m getting really inpatient with this considering I spent $1300+ and haven’t even received anything.

Wait for what? You filed the police report, correct. You should check to see if your homeowners or renters insurance covers such theft. You could also check with your card issuer to see if there is any coverage. It’s improbable that you will hear anything back from the police. You could try contacting Apple with the police report but I’m not sure that would do any good.

Apple makes certain statements because they can confirm that the item was delivered and activated using your iCloud account. However, due to privacy policies, they cannot disclose this information to you directly. Instead, they advise you to file a police report. If the situation escalates, Apple will provide all relevant activation details directly to law enforcement.

I’m kind of saving having to call my bank as last case scenario. I did already ask them about it though and they said after a made the police report i could probably get my money back as long as the purchase is under 60 days. I also did contact Apple the same day I got the police report approved to give them the case number and they said they can’t talk to me about this and will only be talking to the police about this issue. I just want the refund/replacement from Apple because I’ve heard i could get my account banned/blacklisted if I ask my bank for my money and not Apple. I’m assuming it might be because they weren’t done “investigating”.
