How do I fix iPhone not ringing through car speakers and displaying contact names via Bluetooth in a 2016 Honda Civic?

I have an iPhone 13 and a 2016 Honda Civic. When I am connected via Bluetooth, incoming phone calls have stopped ringing through the car speakers and only the phone number is displayed on the dashboard instead of the name of the contact. Apple support has not been able to help and are blaming the issue on my car media centre. I have reset my media centre to factory default and paired my phone again after having made it forget the device. Nothing has worked. If I am tethered and connected through CarPlay, everything works fine; the phone rings through the car speaker and the contact name is displayed on the dash. I don't want to plug my phone in everytime I drive the car. Is anyone else has this issue where Bluetooth no longer works correctly?

Remove the iPhone from the car settings. Then remove the car from the iPhone Bluetooth settings. Restart the iPhone. Then turn on the car, go into car settings to add a phone to put the car into Pairing mode. Go to the iPhone and open Bluetooth to put phone into pairing mode. Follow the directions to pair the devices. See what happens then.
