Best scanner/printer to pair with Macbook Air

I have a MacBook Air purchased in 2018 and need to buy a printer/scanner(mostly for scanning large documents). What type of printer should I buy?

Reasonably Priced Printer for OS Sonoma iMac Does anyone have a suggestion for a "reasonably" priced combo printer/scanner for an OS Sonoma iMac? I print mostly texts but some illustrations from websites/magazines. My old printer, while still functioning, is too old and the manufacturer stopped making the drivers after the last OS. There are two instruments on the Apple website but would be interested in hearing from owners. Inkjet the best bet?

Despite the implications of its title MrHoffman's User Tip Which Printer Should I Buy? - Apple Community addresses scanners also.

The most important criterion is AirPrint compatibility. If the scanner does not explicitly indicate that it is AirPrint compatible, do not buy it.
