How do I delete a work Calendar on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.5?

I have a work calendar that I no longer need. When I create an appointment it defaults to the work calendar despite my turning off viewing the work calendar. How do I delete the work calendar?

Go to Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > [your work account] and turn off Calendar. Then, in Settings > Apps > Calendar, make sure you select the right default calendar. (You won't see that setting if you only have one calendar account active.)
