Apple requesting Activation Lock passcode for my iPhone 11 even when it's not lost

I have an IPhone 11. I received an email from Apple requesting my Activation lock passcode. I haven’t lost my phone and I am unsure if this request is legitimate or not.

That is a scam!! Do not interact with the message at all and delete it. Apple will never request that kind of passcode, especially via email. That is a very prevalent scam where thieves will contact the owner of a lost or stolen iPhone, posing as Apple Support, Apple, Police, etc in hopes of them unlocking Activation Lock, and making the iPhone available for use. What's interesting is that you didn't lose your iPhone. But still, scams have no boundaries and we must always stay vigilant.

I can think of two or three scams that the criminals could try to pull off even if "all" that they had was the OP's Apple ID, and Apple ID password, and not physical possession of any of his or her devices.

Absolutely do not respond to such "phishing" attacks!
