AirPods Pro attached to another Apple ID after purchase from Best Buy

I bought new/unopened AirPod Pros from Best Buy and it says they are attached to someone else’s Apple ID. I have reset them and reconnected them to my Apple ID. They work but I do not want someone else to track them from their phone.

I have changed the name and reset them to no avail. After resetting and pairing again, the other person's name comes back up. How to unlink AirPods from a previous owner's Apple ID? I bought my airpods from one person, but these headphones are linked to his account and now I get notifications all the time and this person can see my location. I have the original box and all the accessories, even the warranty. How can i set my airpods to my apple id ? Because this person doesn’t answer anymore [Edited by Moderator]

AirPods Pro - Apple ID I let my daughter borrow my AirPod Pros and she associated them to her iCloud account. Now when initially repairing them to my iPhone, I get a notice saying they are still linked to her account. However, the AirPods aren’t listed ANYWHERE under her account or on her phone. We’ve checked iCloud devices via web login and her iPhone as well as Find My in both locations. Is there anywhere else they could be linked? I also reset the AirPods though it didn’t make a difference (as expected)
