How can I unlock my iPhone 12 with a cracked screen?

I have an old iPhone 12 that I need to access to turn off Find My iPhone so I can erase it. The crack on the screen is on the lower portion of the left, and it does not recognize when I "tap" the screen in that area (which is the keyboard), so I cannot fully unlock my phone. Is there a workaround? If I work with it, I can access some apps, but it is still technically locked. I don't want to replace screen because it cost over $200 and I have a newer model I use daily.
