Apple Watch Ultra is not showing cardio recovery after swimming

Apple ultra1 has latest software update (11.5) and is paired to iPhone 14 Pro Max also with most recent software onboard (iOS 18.5). As instructed by Apple support I unpaired and re-paired the watch to the phone and then did a swim workout for approximately 55 minutes. Again heart rates during the workout were visible on the phone but no heart recovery measure. When I look under options in the recovery it does not list my watch as a data source although when I look at heart rate watch is shown as data source. Is it possible to manually enter the watch as a data source?

Cardio recovery can be estimated using data Apple Watch records during and after several outdoor walking, outdoor running or hiking workouts. Your heart rate does not have to reach its peak in order to estimate your recovery.

From what I know data sources only appear when they have generated data
