Who thought the glass effect was a good idea? Please add an option to disable it — my eyes aren’t a GPU benchmark, and it murders the battery.

The battery drain after updating is almost certainly unrelated to the Liquid Glass effects. There is a lot of background processing that has to take place after a major update. Give things a few days to settle down.
Apple needs to give an option to turn this off, i have a condition with my optic nerve and this has now made my phone unusable.

I set wallpaper to solid black.... seems battery use is fine.... [always dark] setting for icons looks pretty cool I reckon....

Well I'd ask, who are they making the product for? The end user or the people writing the programming?
Thanks for sharing, it makes all the rest of the bubbles too dark/black on the home screen/lock screen. Downvote for the outcome, not the support. 🙏
